Dave grew up in a stable but only marginally religious household, moving to six different states before finishing high school. While attending the University of Kansas, he became involved in a campus ministry and came to faith in Christ, and was immediately drawn to evangelism and interpersonal ministry. He served as a missionary in Hungary for two years, then headed out to Southern California to attend the Master’s Seminary. Upon graduation he became the full-time College and Evangelism pastor at a church in Burbank, where his first order of business was to befriend, date, and marry a beautiful, blonde UCLA Bruin named Becky.
In the summer of 2007 the elders of Flint Hills Bible Church called Dave to be their pastor, so he and Becky loaded up their children and moved to Emporia, Kansas. It was a match made in heaven: Dave, Becky, and their four children (Julia, Nathan, Amberly, and Jacob) are grateful to call FHBC their family and proud to call Emporia their home.
As Preaching Pastor, Dave’s primary purpose is to feed the flock from the Word of God. He loves bringing God’s truth to bear on the lives of his people, whether through the Sunday morning sermon, equipping classes, his men’s Bible study group, or personal counseling and discipleship.
